In the poem, the speaker and his neighbor meet each year to repair a wall. Describe a time when you had to set or respect a boundary with a friend, family member, or classmate. How did it help or hurt your connection with that person?

Prompt Response:

A time I had to respect a boundary with a friend was with my friend Joe who has a peanut allergy. I had been bringing peanut butter and jelly sandwiches to lunch for a very long time but when he started sitting with us I stopped because of his allergy. Me not eating peanuts in front of him showed that I respected his allergy and it strengthened our friendship.

Summary:

Today we did the CommonLit assignment analyzing a poem about a wall.

Reflection:

I learned about how things that happen in your life can connect you.
