In “The Interlopers” by Saki, Ulrich and Georg view each other as interlopers, outsiders intruding on their land and their lives. Think about a time when you felt like an interloper or when someone else felt out of place in your world. How did that situation affect relationships, emotions, or outcomes?

Prompt Response:

A time I felt like someone was out of place was when a person who no one at my lunch table knew showed up and started sitting with us. One day when I went to lunch, I sat with my friends and discovered that a person who nobody knew was sitting with us, no one was friends with him and he didn't talk at all and it annoyed me that he was sitting at our table and taking up space because a lot of the time the table is really crammed.

Summary:

Today we read a CommonLit story called the Interlopers and we answered questions on it afterward.

Reflection:

Today I learned about the symbolism and meaning of the story The Interlopers.
